Emil Sautter – St. Paul, MN 1903-1961

Emil Sautter, 58, St. Paul, died Friday in Bismarck, where he was visiting two of his brothers.

A native South Dakotan, Mr.Sautter was born Aug. 16, 1903, at Artas, South Dakota, a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Sautter, and moved to Linton, North Dakota with his parents in 1909. He received his education at Linton and later moved to Wilmot, S.D., where he resided until 1953, when he began making his home in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Mr. Sautter had arrived in Bismarck Thursday night to visit Richard and Walter Sautter and was at the home of friends at 618 19th St., when he died.

He was married to Arvilla Bassett in 1928. She died in 1959. His parents and six brothers and sisters also preceded him in death.

Mr. Sautter is survived by one son, Devon, Coon Rapids, Minn. and five grandchildren.

In addition to his two brothers in Bismarck, he leaves two other brothers, Arthur, Lynden, Wash., and Robert, Oakland, Calif., and four sisters, Mrs. J.J. Kremer, Linton; Mrs. Ed Graf, Cloquet, Minn.; Mrs. Martin Weber, Eureka, S.D. and Mrs. Esther Sahli, Menasha, Wis.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday in the chapel of the Boelter Funeral Home here with the Rev. C.F. Strutz officiating. The body will then be taken to Wilmot, S.D., for final rites and buried on Wednesday.
